The Story of Our Name

The name BOOM was selected because it touches our hearts and carries so many meanings that describe life and healing.

BOOM is a mic drop moment, the moment when things finally come together – BOOM! BOOM signifies rapid growth. Nautically, it represents flexibility and adjusting direction. In construction, a BOOM is used to enable work in awkward places. The dictionary definition is a deep and loud sound, a release.

There are numerous examples of BOOM in nature that hold power, awe, and change – thunder, rockslides, avalanches and earthquakes. And of course, a BOOM can be a rhythm like in music or a heartbeat.

BOOM happens in our lives – it’s moments of awareness and awakening. Of tragedy and loss. The moment when we realize we want help. Moments of success and failure. Sometimes the BOOM feels loud and sometimes more like a whisper.

So for us and our clients, BOOM represents release, growth, flexibility, pivoting, awareness, awakening, grit, strength, resilience, and aliveness.

Our Location

BOOM Healing is located in the forest because we are connected with nature and know it heals. Our founder, Amanda, has a fondness for nature. Daily she can be found on a nearby trail in the woods with her dog.The forest she says, is her sanctuary and sacred place.

It is also well documented that trees heal. Two hours amongst trees gives participants about 30 days of health benefits including such things as – increased positive feelings, memory, immunity, and quality of sleep; decreased blood pressure, stress hormones and stress-related illness, and blood sugar levels; and a lift in depressive symptoms (check out our first blog post for references and more information).

The BOOM Healing Property

In 2021 Amanda, our founder, and her husband and son purchased the property in Anmore where BOOM Healing is located. Their vision was a forest based healing house with like minded healers working together surrounded by the healing benefits of nature.

It took Amanda and her family about a year to plan and renovate the carriage house where the BOOM Healing House is located. An important aspect of the Healing House is quiet and ease. As such, the number of practitioners working at any given time is limited to keep stimulation and disruption low, creating as much calm and ease as possible for both practitioners and clients.

Amanda has always wanted to work and live on the same property, allowing her to fully attune to the healing house, the practitioners working there, and most importantly the clients coming and going and benefiting from this incredible place.
