Amanda | BOOM Healing

Hello, I’m Amanda, healer and founder of BOOM Healing. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a Certified NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback Trainer.

I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and that we naturally gravitate to wellness given the right conditions. Some of the key ingredients for healing include education, intention, safety and security, finding purpose, and being true and connected to oneself. I work with my clients to discover and unlock their capacity to heal and live a life they love and appreciate.

I also believe in the power of nature in healing and wellness. That is why I built BOOM Healing nestled in the forests of Anmore and near Buntzen Lake. Clients report feeling the power and ease of this nature based setting when they visit BOOM Healing.

If you’re willing and ready to have me be part of your journey, book your initial consultation here.

Origins

My life passion has always been healing and helping. In my earlier years I fulfilled this working in organizational and employee development. But true healing happens at an individual level and so I left the business world to work with clients one-on-one with their goals, purpose, dreams, hurts, health, and happiness. I began my professional counselling career at East Vancouver Counselling and Blooming Brains in Vancouver and to this day I am still strongly affiliated with them because I believe we are better together and no healer should work in isolation. All of my in-person services however are located in Anmore these days, and this is because in 2021 my husband and I went after a dream by purchasing our property and opening BOOM Healing in our detached carriage house. A key life goal of mine has always been to own a clinic that brings like minded multidisciplinary healers together to really make a difference in people’s lives and that is what we do at BOOM Healing.

How I Help

One of my most important qualities as a counsellor is that I walk the talk. This means that I research and trial the techniques and skills that I bring forward during counselling. I see my role as a counsellor to come alongside clients in their healing work to offer guidance, security, co-regulation, and a safe sounding board. I am real and practical with clients; I know that life and healing work can be challenging to integrate at times and as such, I work with clients on realistic solutions. When appropriate, I also bring some levity to counselling and clients can anticipate laughter and tears. I am a natural healer and as such draw on my intuition, alongside best practices, when working with clients.

I am neurodivergent and the mom of a neurodivergent kiddo. I am passionate about, and work from, a nervous system lens because a healthy nervous system is key to feeling good and being well. Therefore, my typical client is open to learning about the nervous system and neurodivergent, a parent of a neurodivergent kiddo, or neurodivergent exploring.

My clients would describe me as down to earth, approachable, and safe. Clients can anticipate a reflective and practical conversation. I have a tremendous amount of life experience and wisdom and can be with you through the heavy and hard and the light and loving. When you work with me you can expect a perfectly imperfect counsellor who is always in the trenches. I believe there is no end game in life, just continuous learning, healing, connecting, and coming home to oneself.
