Hunter | Boom Healing

Hi, I’m Hunter. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) with a passion for helping people reconnect with their bodies, emotions, and authentic selves.

My work is especially supportive for people who have spent years in therapy developing insight and self-awareness, yet still feel stuck in old patterns, survival responses, or disconnection from themselves. I believe healing happens not only through understanding our stories, but through creating enough safety in the body to truly experience and integrate them.

At BOOM Healing, I offer relational somatic counselling and experiential sessions that may incorporate breathwork, somatic exercises, and nervous system-based practices to support deeper emotional processing, regulation, and embodiment. I also deeply value the healing power of nature and feel grateful to be offering this work within the calm, forest-based setting of BOOM Healing.

Origins

My path into this work was deeply personal before it became professional. Throughout much of my life, I struggled with chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, chronic health challenges, and not feeling fully safe or connected within my own body. While seeking help, I often felt discouraged by how fragmented healing could feel, with different systems and professionals looking at the mind, body, nervous system, and physical health separately rather than as interconnected parts of a whole.

Over time, this led me to immerse myself in learning about trauma, the nervous system, somatic healing, emotional processing, and the body’s innate capacity to heal when given the right conditions. I became passionate about bridging insight with embodiment and helping others access the deeper layers of healing that can sometimes remain untouched through cognitive understanding alone.

How I Help

I work from a relational, somatic, and nervous system-oriented lens. My role is not to “fix” clients, but to help create the conditions for deeper healing, awareness, and transformation to emerge organically.

I believe many people have learned to live primarily from the mind as a way of staying safe. While insight can be incredibly valuable, lasting change often requires slowing down enough to listen to the body and work with what it has been holding beneath the surface.

In sessions, I help clients build awareness of their nervous system patterns, reconnect with their emotions and bodily experience, and develop greater capacity for presence, self-compassion, choice, and connection. My approach is warm, collaborative, intuitive, and deeply grounded in trauma-informed practice and nervous system science.

I also offer experiential sessions that may include guided breathwork, somatic exercises, and body-based practices to support bottom-up emotional processing and integration. These sessions are designed to gently move beyond intellectual understanding and allow the body to guide the healing process at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

Clients often describe me as grounded, compassionate, deeply attuned, and easy to talk to. I believe healing happens in spaces where people feel safe enough to be fully human.

Why I Love What I Do

I love this work because I know how painful it can feel to want change deeply and still feel stuck in the same patterns, emotions, or ways of relating to yourself. I also know how powerful it is when people begin to reconnect with parts of themselves that were once hidden beneath survival, shame, protection, or overwhelm.

There is something incredibly meaningful to me about helping people come home to themselves — to feel more connected, more present, and more able to move through life with authenticity, clarity, and choice.

I believe healing is not about becoming someone new, but about creating enough safety to become more fully ourselves.
